Let data talk.
What is the use of market data?
Market data can help you make informed decisions in business, work and personal life.
For example, if you are starting your own business, the first thing to do is to check whether
your business idea is valid. To validate your idea, you need to understand market size, market segments,
existing competitors, etc. Such information is often hard to find. There are many
market research companies that provide services to collect the information for you, but not everyone
can afford the services without worrying about the budget.
The following are examples of some market research service providers:
Forrester Research
MarketResearch.com
EMarketer.com
Understanding how critical market data is and how hard to get it, we come up with Impressity, trying to make the market data available and
affordable to
everyone.
How does Impressity make this possible?
Impressity's market data is generated by the users and for the users.
There are two sources of market data: first, you can use Impressity's free
survey service and create your own survey. Impressity helps you send out the
survey and collect responses. You can analyze the survey responses in visual
charts or worksheets.
Secondly, your survey's
public questions will be aggregated with
similar questions from other surveys. This aggregation is done automatically
by proprietary algorithm. The responses to all of these questions are aggregated
as well. Now if you go to
Market Research,
and type in the keywords for your question, you can find the aggregated responses
across all the similar survey questions.
Why does Impressity aggregate survey question and responses?
To provide you with most balanced, comprehensive data. The biggest
limitation of survey or focus groups is that they do not reach a large enough
sample base. Therefore the result you get will be skewed and biased. That is why
big market research companies charge so much for their reports: they usually
manage large customer panels to fill out the surveys.
Instead, Impressity let users generate a large customer panel by aggregating
similar questions automatically. Even though your own survey reaches only
a fraction of the market, the combined surveys will provide you a more comprehensive
picture of the whole market.
What about my privacy and business confidentiality?
Impressity's top priority is to protect your privacy as well as survey respondents' privacy:
You have the choice to set up to 10 questions in your survey as Private questions. This means
that the question will not be aggregated in market research data. They
are completely private from public views.
We also detect if any questions in your survey solicits personal identifiable information (PII).
According to CASRO Code of Standards and Ethics for Survey Research,
it is essential that Survey Research Organizations be responsible for protecting from disclosure to third parties--including Clients and members of the Public--the identity of individual Respondents as well as Respondent-identifiable information.
Impressity will automatically set such questions to Private, and prevent them from being aggregated.
If privacy is your foremost concern, then we recommend that you use other alternative survey tools for your purpose.
Why should I create my own survey if I can just search available market data?
First, the existing market data is taken out of context. It may not address your target market specifically.
The most effective way to collect such data is crafting survey in your own context and send it to
your target customers. The aggregated market data should complement your survey results instead of replacing them.
Moreover, only if you conduct actual surveys through our survey tools, can our proprietary algorithm
adequately aggregate the results and provide you with a comprehensive picture. Impressity depends on your contribution, and in return serves you better.
How do you prevent the aggregated data from being tampered?
Impressity strives to provide valid market data with as much control as customer online panel.
We have taken various measures to minimize the suspicious tampering of the data. Our measures include:
By default one survey only allows one response per computer.
While we allow survey creators to change that setting and enable multiple responses from the same computer, we limit the maximum number one survey can be responded from one computer. So
that survey creators cannot tamper the aggregated data either.
We also detect and prevent surveys from being submitted by automatic scripts.
The powerful Drill Down Research, Chronological Research, and Geographical Research tools also enable you
to analyze responses distributions by different factors. With these visual tools it is easy to detect outliers and filter them out of the data.
