Once you sign up and log into your account, you can see a list of surveys you have created.
To create a new survey, just click the "Create Survey" button on this page.

To create a survey from the scratch, just select "Create a new survey", then type in the survey title, tags (for search and aggregation), and click "Create Survey".
To reuse surveys you have created before, select "Reuse an existing survey", then type in the survey title and tags, click "Create Survey". Your new survey will be automatically populated with questions from the reused survey.

4. How do I edit the survey page?

Once you create a new survey, you will be automatically directed to the design page.
First, you can click "Edit Page" to change the default setting of the first page. design survey page

You can specify page title, page descriptions and save these settings.

5. How do I add a new survey page?

Just click "Add a Page" in the design page, then enter page title and page description for the new page. add page

6. How do I delete a survey page?

If you have more than one pages in the survey, you will see "Delete Page" button on any page that is not the first page. Click the "Delete Page" button will remove the current page as well as all the questions in the page.

7. How do I add a new question?

Click "Add Question" in the design page will let you add a question at the top of the page.
Or click "Add Question" on an existing question, a new question will be added below the current one. add page

First you type in the question heading. Impressity will suggest matching survey questions. You can choose the suggested question, or just type in your own question heading. add page 2

Then you can choose question types. Based on the type you choose, you can specify row choices or column choices of the question.
If you have chosen a question suggested for you, the question type and choices will be filled automatically. add page 3

Click "Save Changes" will save the question into your survey.

8. How do I set a question to private?

If you do not want this question to be included in our aggregate report, just check this checkbox below.
Note that for each survey you can set up to 3 questions to private. So please only set questions with confidentiality or privacy concerns to private.

9. How do I let question respondents see question's results?

To encourage survey respondents to answer a question, you can let them view the aggregated results.
Just check this checkbox, then survey respondents will see a "Show Result" link on the survey, clicking the link will show them the aggregated report.

Note that if you want to share a question's results with public (such as embedding the result in a web page or sharing out a link), you also need to check the same checkbox.

10. How do I let question respondents leave a comment?

Check this checkbox so that respondents can leave a comment for the question.

11. How do I make a question required?

Check this checkbox so that respondents have to take this question to proceed.

12. How do I add an image to a question?

Just click the "Browse" button, which opens "Choose File to Update" dialog. Choose any images from your local computer or the network. Then click "Open" button in the dialog, the image will be automatically added to your question.

Note that the image will not be automatically refreshed in the current web page. Save changes, and go back to the survey design page, you will see that the image gets added.
You can change the image any time you want. You can also click "Remove Image" button to remove the image from the question.
Please do not upload materials of others without permission. Copyright and Intellectual Property infringement is a violation of Impressity Copyright Policy and against the law. By clicking "Open" you are representing that this picture does not violate Impressity's Terms of Service and that you own all copyrights in this picture or have authorization to upload it.

13. How do I edit a question?

Just click the "Edit" button on the question you want to modify. You can change any aspects of a question, including questin heading, type, choices, image, and question settings.

14. How do I delete a question?

Just click the "Delete" button on the question you want to delete. The question will be deleted.

15. How do I set logic to the question?

Just click the "Add Logic" button on the question you want to set the logic on. Note: you can only set logic with multiple choice(s) questions.

On the "Add Logic" page, for each potential choice, select dependent questions, then click "Save Logic". When survey respondents take this survey, only when s/he selects this choice, will dependent question appear.

16. How do I move a question (change questions' order)?

Just click the "Drag to Move" button on the question you want to move, drag it to the position you want, and drop the question.

17. How do I preview my survey?

Just click the "Preview Survey" button. Note that this is only for preview purpose, any responses to the preview page will not be collected.

18. How do I edit my survey?

Just click the "Edit Survey" button to edit the survey title or tags.

19. How do I delete my survey?

Just click the "Delete Survey" button to delete your survey and all the questions, responses in the survey.

20. How do I select template theme for my survey?

Impressity provides you with 15 predefined template themes, including Almost Spring, Business, and many more. You can choose any template theme to give your survey a professional look.

21. How do I create my own theme for my survey?

You can customize your own theme any way you want. Just click the "New Theme" button to design your own theme.
Impressity lets you modify background image, background color, font, text size, text color, and any other appearance settings. Once you are done with theme customization, click "Save Theme" and save it as your own theme.

22. How do I create a link to share out my survey?

To share out a survey, the first step is to create a survey link.
Click the "Survey Link" button on the left hand side, and then click "Add New Survey Link" to create a survey link for the current survey.

Then you can review the settings for this newly created survey link. Make sure that you rename the survey link name. The setting page shows all the detailed settings you can configure, including link status, whether to show progress bar, numbering of questions, whether allow multiple responses, whether allow re-edit response, thank you message, completion page, whether to save IP address, cut-off date, maximum response number, blocked IP addresses. After configuring the settings, click "Save Settings" to save the configuration.

23. How do I share out my survey?

You can share out the survey by:
1. Send out emails with the share out link. You can copy and paste the link from the survey link setting page into your email. share out survey 1

2. Copy and paste the share link in an html web page.

3. Impressity also lets you embed the survey directly in your web page. So that users do not need to leave your web page to fill the survey. Just copy and paste the embed link into your web page. You can adjust the "SurveyWidth" in the link to resize the embedded survey. You can also adjust the embedded object's width and height to achieve the best look.
Note that resizing of the survey does not automatically resize the text size in the survey. To achieve that, you need to go to the "Edit Theme" page and save the new text size to the theme.

24. Where can I analyze my survey responses?

Click the "View Responses" will lead you to the summary report of the current survey.

25. How can I share out a survey question's summary report?

In the "View Responses" page, select the question you want to share and click the "Details" button for that question. The next page will show you the link to share the report through email or html page.
You can also copy and paste the embed link and embed the report chart directly into any web page.
Note that to share out a question with public, you need to check the setting checkbox that allows survey respondents to see the results. See details here.

26. How can I cross question?

In the "Survey Responses" page, select the question you want to drill down and click the "Cross Question" button for that question. The next page will show you a list of other questions in the survey. Choose any of the questions to cross with.

27. How can I track a question's responses over time?

In the "Survey Responses" page, select the question you want to track and click the "Chronological" button for that question. The next page will show you the responses to this question over the time.

28. How can I see the responses distribution per Geographical locations?

In the "Survey Responses" page, select the question you want to investigate and click the "Geographical" button for that question. The next page will show you where the responese come from on the world map. Each city having responses shows a marker. Clicking on the marker will show you a summary chart of responses for that city.

Note that the location lookup is based on survey respondents' IP address. We use a community based geotargeting database to do the IP to location lookup. The location is not garuanteed to be 100% accurate. Some IP addresses may not find the corresponding locations and are not shown in the map.
This tool only serves to give you an approximate idea how responses distribute Geographically. Impressity does not take any responsibility for the data accuracy.
To protect survey respondents' privacy, we also truncate the latitude and longitude of the locations.

29. How do I download the survey responses?

Just click the "Download Responses" button on the left hand side. You will see a list of options to download the responses. You can download the summary reports as HTML file or Microsoft Word document.
Or you can download the complete raw data as CSV file or Microsoft Excel worksheet.

30. How do I remove unwanted survey responses?

Just click the "Edit Responses" button on the left hand side. You will see a list of responses to your survey. You can remove each response based on the response time and respondents IP address.
Note that deletion of survey response is irreversible. Please make sure you really want to remove the response before deleting it.

31. Can I change my password after sign up?

Yes, just log into your account, on the "My Account" page, you can see the current account information, including username, password, and contact email. To change your password, click "Change Password" to modify your password.

32. Can I change my contact email after sign up?

Yes, just log into your account, on the "My Account" page, you can see the current account information, including username, password, and contact email. To change your email address, click "Change email" to modify your contact email.

33. What can I do if I forget my password?

You can go to the Login page, and enter your email address under "Forgot your password". Then click "Submit". We will send you an email with a link to reset your password.

34. How do I conduct market research?

Just go to the Search page, enter any topics you are interested in. Then click "search". We will show you all the related aggregated reports from our knowledge database.
We also show the related featured reports and external links.

35. How do I conduct market drill down research?

At the bottom of each aggregated report you searched, we show a list of "drill down" topics(topics that survey respondents answered as well as the searched topic).
Clicking on the "drill down" topic will lead you to a new page, where the searched topic is drilled down further to provide deeper understanding of the searched topic.

36. How do I conduct market chronological research?

At the top of each aggregated report you searched, click on the "Chronological" button. This will show you answers to this topic over the time.

37. How do I conduct market Geographical research?

At the top of each aggregated report you searched, click on the "Geographical" button. This will show you answers to this topic per individual cities on the world map.
Each city having responses shows a marker. Clicking on the marker will show you a summary chart of responses for that city.

38. I have issues with Impressity on Firefox, what should I do?

Impressity's site and services are tested rigorously on all major browsers in the market. However, there might be compatibility support problems with different versions of browsers.

39. How do I report technical problems?

40. Why do I include the survey in Impressity's Featured Page?

By opting to include your survey in Impressity's Featured Page, you are inviting Impressity's Global Customer Panel to take your survey. Not only will this increase your survey response rate, this will also provide additional data to help you analyze the survey results.

For example, you can view the survey responses to your question segmented by our customer panel's demographics. You can see how responses vary based on age, gender, ethnicity, location, education, career, and many other factors. These are valuable additional data to help you further understand your survey data. Check here for examples of featured survey questions.

To include your survey in Impressity's Featured Page, just check the checkbox below when creating your survey. For your existing survey, you can click "Edit Survey" button to check it.

Note that for each featured survey, we will only show one question as a representative topic. The topics are sorted by responses count. The higher the response counts are, the higher the topic will show up on our Featured Page.

41. How do I add Captcha to my survey?

Many of our customers asked us for a feature to ensure that only legit survey responses are submitted. While you can already set your survey link setting to forbid multiple responses from one computer, sometimes you have to allow it if your survey respondents may share the same computer. To solve this problem, you can set the survey link setting to show Captcha. Once "Show Captcha" is enabled, the survey will show the captcha picture. Only when the survey respondent types in the exact same text as shown in the captcha can she continue to submit the survey.

To change your survey link setting to show captcha, see the example below:

And when the survey respondent takes this survey, s/he will see the captcha picture in the first page of the survey. S/he will have to type in the right text to continue with the survey. If a software is used to "spam" the survey results, the software will be baffled by the captcha requirement.
